Biggest sale so far

I've just heard that I have made my first sale at Green Tree Gallery - and it was the biggest piece!

My "Harbourside" quilted hanging has sold!  This is one of the first pieces I made in my "Corrosion" series, inspired by the rusted sea wall at Pagham Harbour.

I have to admit a tinge of sadness but as it has been tucked away in a drawer for the last few years, I am happy that it will now be hanging in someone's house and enjoyed.

I don't feel so much of a fraud now when I say I'm a Textile Artist!

So long - so busy

Where has the last month gone?    As I spent most of it beside the sea in our caravan, I guess I know where!

Although I have been away, my trusty sewing machine came with me and I managed to quilt and finish two quilts as well as making a quilt top which I will get finished now I am home.

These are all destined to Green Tree Gallery, together with two others I have already got finished so hopefully I will get them down there in the next week.  Then the waiting begins to see if anyone likes them enough to buy!

I also have to decide which of the Rust series I will be taking down to Green Tree too.   Big decisions to make as I have to decide which I am willing to part with for ever!   My head keeps telling me that what is the point of having them if they are just in a drawer and are never looked at but the heart is saying "but you put so much love into every single stitch".    The head is winning at the moment but we shall see.

Good news on this year's Targets

Work on my targets for this year have continued with more items going on Folksy.

The even better news is, the application to Green Tree Gallery to sell my work has been a success!  I had a reply a couple of weeks ago and although they were not interested in the smaller items I sent them because they already had a range in the Gallery, they were interested in my quilts.   They had also looked at my work on Thread and Shutter and have asked me to put together a collection of work that will look good together as they liked the idea of the way I had worked on a theme.

I met with the owner, Victoria Lovell, to discuss what they wanted and what was expect of me and I am so keen to get the collection together.  It should be going up in April so I will confirm the dates as soon as I know.   In the meantime, I will be taking some quilts down in the next few weeks.

Anyone in the Sussex area, do make a trip to Borde Hill Garden, just outside Cuckfield, where Green Tree Gallery is situated in the Car Park.  They have some truly wonderful items for sale!
