Jolly Chunky Bag!

My Jolly Chunky Bag, courtesy of Attic 24, is finished.   It came together quite quickly leaving me with quite a bit of wool left over so I will have to get thinking about what I can do with it.

The most difficult thing about it is getting a photo of the finished article so apologies for my efforts.

April Journal Quilt

Another Journal Quilt completed, this month's being inspired by the Hibiscus flowers that grew around the hotel in Maspalomas and just about everywhere else.

The flowers are formed using log cabin with half in red and half in green using fabrics I have dyed myself.   I've used two different sizes for the flowers, piecing the log cabin blocks together with pieces of the same green fabric.  I've used this idea before for a quilt I entered into the Festival of Quilts many years ago.  The judges comments included one that I hadn't done enough quilting and I admit in the early days of making quilts, the quilting was the thing I hated.   One focus for this year's Journal Quilts is the quilting and I am pushing myself to do more and to not be afraid of it.

This months quilt has dense quilting in a random grid arrangement around each of the flowers as well at lines of quilting on each of the flowers to reflect the veins on the petals.

A Mother's Day Gift

I was lucky enough to receive a hand crocheted blanket from my youngest daughter Karen for Mother's Day. She hasn't been crocheting for long but took to it like a duck to water and now always has several things on the go at once.

She used Attic24's CAL for the Moorland  blanket which I loved the first time I saw it so was very happy when she said she'd make it for me.

The photos do not really do it justice so I will have another go when I have more space (in the caravan at the moment).

Blanket update

Another month finished on my Temperature Blanket!

I was excited when I got to a yellow row late in the month, indicating that we had a temperature over 17 deg C.  Ended up with this temperature for three days on the trot which was glorious for the time of year.

As you can see, it was back to green at the end of the month.
